    Top 3 Purchases of 2011

After the battlefield 3 trailer released yesterday it got me thinking of the games I wanted for the rest of this year. I limited myself to getting 3 more the rest of the year. Some of the games on my list will probably be purchased for both consoles so it isn't just $65 x 3 it's more like $65 x 6 (or more).

My top 3 games I want for the remainder of this year are in order of release:

    1. Brink
    2. Battlefield 3
    3. Modern Warfare 3 (this is on name alone at this point since we don't know a whole lot about it yet except for a few rumors and since IW has at least a part in this game)

    What are your top 3?

Re: Top 3 Purchases of 2011

This one is a tough one for me. I have a lot of different games that I want to buy and play and love. I guess, these would be the three I am REALLY looking at this year:

    1. LA Noire - I am a Rockstar whore. Everything they do is gold. Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto, Max Mayne (I hope). LA Noire takes one of my new favorite film categories and takes the genre into the new millennium. It's one of the games that is number one on my Most Wanted List and it's finally coming in May.

    2. Duke Nukem Forever - I've been waiting for this game since I beat Duke Nukem 3D. I haven't wanted a game more than this one. Sure, the game looks like it will be dated using old school FPS tactics, but that is what is going to make this game feel great. You're going back to the old ways of playing an FPS back when FPS games were fun and not the same military action. Plus, you get to make Duke piss. What's not to love?

    3. Mass Effect 3 - I would have said Modern Warfare 3, but I am not so sure I will getting that one this year. Mass Effect continues the epic story of the crew on the Normandy. I still need to get the DLC for this game and once I do I will be primed and ready for Mass Effect 3. It looks as though ME 3 will be hitting our planet Earth which will be an interesting take to see a more futuristic take on our planet and hopefully will show more of the planet instead of huge constructs all over the place.

Re: Top 3 Purchases of 2011

I honestly don't know if I could decide on three games to buy this year. The releases announced so far have left me so indecisive on the subject, but here are the three I'd go for, right at this moment in time:

Hitman 5: I've heard that this game might be announced at E3 2011 this year. I've also heard it'll run on an engine called 'Glacier 2.0', but I'm not certain if this is true or if it is just a rumor with no real backing evidence. If this game does come out this year it's going to be one of my most wanted. I loved Hitman: Blood Money, and I want another game of the same grade and quality as it to play. Even now I still play Blood Money occasionally to enjoy the experience over and over. The huge number of ways you can finish each mission is incredibly enjoyable.

LA Noire: This game is from Rockstar, which already guarantees it'll be of an exemplary quality. I wasn't blown away by Red Dead Redemption in the same manner I was with GTA IV, but I suppose that's more due to the fact the Wild West never really grabbed me that much. LA Noire seems to be giving me more of the Mafia II fix I enjoyed last year, with the same era of gameplay. Plus, playing from the perspective of a detective rather than one of the 'bad guys' is an interesting concept to see in a game. I hope Rockstar pull it off well.

Assassin's Creed III: Brotherhood was amazing. Assassin's Creed II was amazing. Assassin's Creed was pretty decent. Considering the track record Ubisoft have had with the franchise in the past, I can see this game being another great title in the franchise. I need to buy a copy of Brotherhood and the original game though, to make sure that I get the full collection from the series. If it does come out this year, it seems I'll be doing a lot of assassinating between playing as Mr. 47 and Desmond Miles!

Another honorable mention has to go to Modern Warfare 3, and also Battlefield 3. Both games seem amazing as well, but I might rent them first to ensure they live up to the hype.
