Announced at last year's E3, the Star Trek game has been presented as an action adventure, and will feature Kirk and Spock in an original story penned by God of War writer Marianne Krawczyk. It will be set after the events of the J.J. Abrams 2009 reboot film, and it sees the Enterprise officers working together to stop the plans of a powerful enemy who, you guessed it, wants intergalactic domination.

In terms of gameplay, Star Trek will carry an emphasis on cooperative play, with Paramount promising an experience and story "filled with action-packed combat." Development of the title has been entrusted to Canadian developer Digital Extremes, who you may remember developed Bioshock 2's multiplayer component, and more recently, The Darkness II. J.J. Abrams and his development company, Bad Robot, are offering assistance, along with the film's producers.
